A beanie made of Icelandic Wool is the fashion accessory and the perfect complementation to every Icelandic sweater. On request, we also knit any sweater design as a beanie. You do not want to stick to one design? A uni-colored beanie goes with any Icelandic sweater design, but also everything else. A one-colored Icelandic Wool beanie can be universally combined with everything.
Icelandic Wool is water-repellent due to its natural wool grease, so the beanie does not soak with water too quickly. Since it is a completely natural product, Icelandic Wool is also more breathable. For example, during outdoor activities, you do not sweat like when waring a beanie made from fleece.
The LOPI yarn comes from a unique breed of sheep from Iceland. The special Icelandic Wool is very resistant to extreme weather conditions and yet soft and comfortable. This is due to a special characteristic of the wool of the Icelandic sheep. It consists of two types of hair: the inner hair is very soft and insulates cold, the outer hair is longer, firmer, and water-repellent. Without the Icelandic sheep, Iceland would not have been habitable for the Vikings thousands of years ago. The sheep breed is unique in the world and its wool is designed for the Nordic climate.
